DATA-LIFE

DATA-LIFE is an interdisciplinary education experience involving students and professors from NYU and from DEIB/Design-POLIMI (Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Design of Politecnico di Milano).

DATA-SHACK

DATA-SHACK is a collaboration involving students from the Institute for Applied Computational Science (IACS) at Harvard’s John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) and from the Master Courses in Computer Engineering and Design of Communication at Politecnico di Milano.

ASP

Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP) is a selective and multidisciplinary programme for talented students who want to pursue a Laurea Magistrale in Architecture, Design, and Engineering created by Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino.

DATA MANAGEMENT FOR THE WEB

This course deals with the new technologies and applications that characterize data management on the Web. At the end of the course, students will have a good knowledge of many data management aspects related to Internet, a core aspect of today’s professional preparation which opens up to many job opportunities and responds to emerging needs of the society.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BIG AND UNSTRUCTURED DATA

The objective of the course is to address the problems, solutions, methods, and technologies for big data storage and management, with special emphasis on scalability and persistency. The course covers the main principles of big data management, the different approaches to unstructured data management, and the design methodologies for the specification of NoSQL data models.

STREAMING DATA ANALYTICS

The course provides the foundational concepts, methods, languages, and systems for ingesting, processing, and analyzing data that flows to enable real-time decisions. The course aims to the tame velocity dimensions of Big Data without forgetting the volume and variety dimensions.

DIGITAL INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGIES FOR PHYSICAL INTERFACES

Il laboratorio propone argomenti di ricerca progettuale innovativi, in sintonia con tendenze sociali, culturali e tecnologiche emergenti, per esplorare nuovi scenari del prodotto. L’insegnamento è realizzato in co-tutela con aziende, con istituzioni e con centri di ricerca e sviluppo, finalizzati a trasferire conoscenze funzionali allo sviluppo di soluzioni innovative.
